Most frequent visitors to Yiwu Market are offline chain store owners and wholesalers from developing regions like Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. For example, many African wholesalers are very familiar with the market, selecting products with ease. How to pay? RMB or USD? Cash?
If you’re buying something worth a few hundred dollars, suppliers in the Yiwu market only accept payment in cash, in RMB.
For big orders, like a few thousand or even tens of thousands of dollars, most buyers make payments to their cooperative agents via T/T. The agents then transfer the money to the suppliers in the Yiwu market. Typically, buyers only need to pay a deposit of $150 to $300 upfront, with the remaining balance due 10 to 15 days after the goods are shipped.
In addition, a small number of buyers work directly with Yiwu market suppliers, paying both the deposit and the balance as mentioned above. The specific payment details depend on your agreement with the supplier.
How to inspect and ship goods from Yiwu to you？
A small number of buyers work directly with freight forwarders. Here’s how it works: buyers place orders at the supplier’s booth and ask the supplier to deliver products to their forwarder at a set time. These forwarders specialize in handling orders for buyers from the Middle East and Africa, simply loading goods into containers for shipping without inspection.
This relies heavily on trust between the buyer and the supplier. Many African buyers prefer to visit Yiwu personally to inspect the goods and supervise the loading process.
If you are from a country along the Yixinou Railway, you can also choose to ship the goods to your country by rail. The “Yixinou railway” starts from Yiwu and passes through the following countries and regions:

The choice of rail transport saves about half of the cost of time, and its cost is only half or less that of air transport.

We went to Yiwu a couple months ago to do some sourcing for the first time and we didn’t see your company so we chose AMANDA INTERNATIONAL GROUP. They said they were the biggest sourcing agent in China. However, I discovered that the agents they sent to help us were completely unprofessional and were unfamiliar with the markets and whereabouts of the products we needed. They were discourteous to the manufacturers and ‘negotiated’ to suppliers for us without our asking for a much higher price than we wanted. After we left, our manufacturer got in touch with us personally and told us AMANDA agents went to them to harass them into accepting a lower price than the agreed price so they could get a secret profit. Our manufacturers also said that they didn’t receive all the money we transfered over to AMANDA. We asked AMANDA to make the refund, because we paid the manufacturers directly after that, but they still haven’t done so. Meanwhile, they are not replying to our e-mails and messages. Do you have any suggestions for us? Is there a complaint agency we could contact in Yiwu to solve this problem?

Amanda is one of the biggest Yiwu Agent Companies here, and they do have lots of problems as they are big. They are hiring large numbers of newly graduated students by low standard all year around, that’s why you feel they are not professional.
It’s common scene they are asking kickbacks from suppliers in the market, and Amanda has rules that all staffs have to keep profit above 10% for each order by any method. You can ask any suppliers in the Yiwu Market that are Amanda, Sellers Union, Market Union or other famous Yiwu Agents getting kickbacks from them, and all of them will tell you yes.
The reasonable service fee for buying in Yiwu Market will be 5%, and when you see all kinds advertisement in Yiwu announcing 2% or 1% commission (even 0% commission for first order), please realize that you are buying more than this. Offering commission as low as possible is their only way to compete to get client’s attraction.
Another important thing is that Yiwu Market is not offering best price or good quality for most product categories, but it’s convenience to buy everything in one place. I would like to know how and to whom to make a complaint against a shop of Futian 1. I made an order of almost 50,000 RMB and paid 2000 RMB as deposit. But after visiting some more shops, I saw that many items were overpriced by the seller and I returned to the seller and asked to reduce the order to 25000 RMB. But he refused that and did not give me back my 2000 RMB. I went to the police station but they told me that they cannot help and asked to solve it mutually. Hi Shezan, about the problem of high quoted price, under this condition, I think it’s reasonable that supplier refuses to return your deposit. Because before you alreday confirmed the price, and placed your order, then you regreted, they certainly won’t accept. As far as i know, most suppliers in Yiwu market won’t do double price quote to customers. The quality of these low-price products may be different from the one you placed order, or other suppliers were lying to you. A $50,000 order is a large order, I think your supplier quoted you reasonable price, that’s why you placed your order at beginning. Hope can be helpful to you.

There’s only two good places for purchasing bags, accessoreis, and they are Yiwu and Gangzhou. If you don’t need other other products, then Guangzhou will be enough for you. If you think you need these products with budget price, come to Yiwu Please.
However I can tell you truth is that buying cloths (no matter for kids or adult) is not good choice in Yiwu, although there is cloth market here in Yiwu.

Hi. If you only looking for manufacturers, then Canton Fair and other Fairs will be the only choice, although there are lots suppliers in Canton Fair are not the factory and you also can not identify them.
For suppliers in the Yiwu wholesale market, the percentage of manufacturer is less than 20%. However, if you are not buying huge quantity for certain product, the price you get from the middlemen/trading company in Yiwu market will be no much difference from the factory. Because factory also want to sell you high price to make profit, better than selling to middlemen, and the middlemen here always get very low profit. This kind cases is very normal, if you are buying low value products.

Although Yiwu market has its official website yiwugou.com, and its English version is en.yiwugou.com, the searching system really suck. You can search “打火机” in http://yiwugou.com, and you will get the list of suppliers in the market, with their booth number. Then you can find them in the market one by one.
However, the industrial cluster of Cigarette Lighters is in Cixi, Ningbo, and you are more likely to find the real factories there.
